Review by hotel critic
On my recent visit to Zur Alten Muhle, nestled in the picturesque Black Forest, I found the blend of luxury and value quite intriguing. The room service was impeccable, adding a touch of convenience to our stay. However, I was surprised to find that laundry services came at an additional cost, slightly detracting from the overall value proposition. The welcome drink upon arrival was a nice touch, setting a pleasant tone for our visit. The hotel's assistance with tours and tickets was commendable, catering to our desire for exploration. The presence of ironing facilities in the room was a practical convenience that I appreciated. The hotel's serene garden area with its tranquil terrace was a delightful spot to unwind. The on-site restaurant offered a delectable array of dishes, though I found the pricing slightly on the higher side for the portion sizes provided. Nonetheless, the atmosphere and quality of the food were undeniably top-notch.In conclusion, Zur Alten Muhle offers a charming retreat for those seeking a balance of luxury and affordability. While certain amenities come at an extra cost, the overall experience of staying in this architectural gem amidst nature's beauty is worth considering for a special getaway.
